I came to New Back Chiropractic because I had been told by my doctor that there was no treatment (except possible surgery) for my back pain and I would just have to live with it. I first (approximately 15 years ago) had pain on my right lower back area which then moved to the left side. The pain was severe and kept me from being able to stand up straight or walk very far. After the 5th decompression treatment with New Back Chiropractic, the pain was nearly gone, and I was highly encouraged to complete the treatment. What brought me to inquire about spinal decompression? I had neck pain, spasms in my shoulder muscles, pain going down my right arm. The finger on my right hand would go numb and ache during the night and wake me up. The same would happen when I drove a car, plus I was getting what felt like an electrical shock across my knuckles. I was accepted for treatment at New Back Chiropractic after an MRI confirmed my candidacy. From the second or third treatment, I noticed a big difference — symptoms were not as severe. Prior to my treatment at the New Back Chiropractic treatment center, I was in constant pain. No amount of painkillers or muscle “relaxers” helped. I suffered an injury that resulted in a herniated L5-S1 disc (6 mm). The pain was the worst I have ever known. I went to my orthopedic doctor and was told that I needed spinal fusion surgery. Since I could not accept this diagnosis, I then went to a chiropractor for treatment, and he only made the condition worse. I continued to suffer for three months, then decided to have an epidural injection. This helped to a degree, but the effects of the medication were horrible. At 53 years of age, I realized that I was not the tough guy I used to be. I could not handle this pain anymore; I could not work, as I could not sit at my desk for more than 5 minutes due to the pain. I was worried about losing my job and not being able to provide for my family. I was losing weight rapidly due to nerve inflammation and digestive system complications; I was scared. I spoke with Dr. Hall, and he helped me understand my condition better than anyone had up to that point. After I received my evaluation findings, diagnosis, and prognosis with the decompression treatment, hope was sneaking back into my life. I started therapy for 4 days a week, and after 5 weeks my pain was 95% gone. Following some of Dr. Hall’s tips on core stabilization of the lumbar spine, I have continued getting better even after the decompression treatment was complete. Now at 8 weeks since the beginning of my decompression treatment, the pain is completely gone! I am 55 years young, and I have been in the fitness field since my 20’s. I am a teacher of dance and fitness classes, and I came to Dr. Hall with chronic pain in my L4-L5 spine due to a disc bulge. I had tried many different treatments over the years: massage, acupuncture and chiropractic, many times with relief but always recurring pain in that L4-L5 area. The severity of my pain was at a 5–6 on a pain scale of 10, and I was giving up more of my activities to accommodate the pain. I had severe pain in the small of my lower back that spread through my sciatic nerve and down into my buttocks. Pain would come after about 3–5 steps of walking. I went through therapy for 2 months and that improved my condition by about 10%. Five epidural injections in my back did not help. I could walk 100 yards max, sometimes only 5 yards. I was treated by Dr. Hall and his staff for herniated discs in my neck. Pain in my neck, numbness in two of my fingers, and tingling in my forearm was enough for me to try his decompression program. Although the results were slow at first, the pain relief during the latter part of the program was remarkable. Dr. Hall and his staff well understand the patient’s pains and needs. They maintain a high-spirited focus of making the patient care their number one priority.
